This Thanksgiving promises to a be a memorable one! This Gemini full moon is chock-a-block packed with astrological activity. One thing I find really interesting about the next few full moons (through March 2019) is that they are all falling at 0 degrees of the sign they are in. This is relatively uncommon. And I love that this series of 0 degree full moons is being kicked off by Gemini, the sign of “beginner’s mind.” 0 degrees is full of potentiality. It’s where we have the whole rest of the sign ahead of us, and we’re gazing at things with a renewed sense of possibility. It’s also an energy which it’s just too soon to tell how everything is going to shake out, so our main job is to be in the moment with what presents itself and meet it with a sense of curiosity.
One of the wonderful things about this full moon is the opportunity to tap into your inspiration and creativity. With such a strong Sagittarius/Jupiter signature (the Sun, Jupiter, and Mercury all line up in Sagittarius), the universe is asking us to harness the power of our insight to access needed inspiration and trust in the future. Nothing ventured, nothing gained is the rallying cry of this energy. My sense is it is leading us to explore the inner frontier, versus take any risky bets on others or external situations at this time. The reason being is Mercury is retrograde (until 12/6) and all of the aforementioned Sagittarius/Jupiter energy is being squared by Neptune in Pisces. Along with the 0 degree mark, is it’s just too soon to move to tactics and concrete plans. We will get there soon enough, with the powerful Capricorn energy coming in December and January, so allow yourself the opportunity to explore pure potentiality. We’re seeding new ways of thinking about our desires for the future and also how to be in the moment with what we encounter. Neptune asks us to dissolve the hard edges of our self-righteousness and sense of right and wrong. It loosens our grip on reality in order to do so, and that has a sacred purpose to allow us the space to dream and vision beyond what we currently know to be true.
In addition to charging up our faith and inspiration, for this full moon Mars in Pisces squares the Sun and Moon, which means we are breaking up patterns of unworthiness. With all the visionary energy afoot, tend to your physical self to help with grounding and increased feelings of worthiness. We’re shifting and upgrading our attitude about a current situation; allow yourself to be swept away by the good feelings of taking the high road. This isn’t a sacrifice or being the bigger person. With the current energy it actually just plain feels better than staying small and stuck in a limiting perspective that rehashes past experiences.
Continuing on this theme of breaking up old patterns, Venus in Libra is asking us to release behaviors around indecision/avoidance with its opposition to Uranus in Aries. Any win-win situation starts with us fully participating with honest conversations. We’re not getting away with putting a happy face on it and overly focusing on the needs of others. Focus on your own ideas around your value; comparison to others will most likely lead to more self-doubt.
In summary, this full moon is offering an opportunity to explore our internal frontier and infuse ourselves with inspiration; a needed step after a fall that has required psychological stamina and a lot of reflection and letting go around our values and relationships with Venus retrograde in Scorpio.
