This new moon is asking us to surrender and receive in a major way. I honestly might be better off leaving you with mystical poetry to get at the essence of this new moon, since it’s beyond what our words and ego minds can really fathom. However, there are some major astrological aspects with this new moon that I’d be remiss in not covering, so I will include some poetry at the end of this and if you want you can just skip to that part, I won’t mind ;).
Our connection to the divine, within and without, takes center stage for this new moon. Typically, after the get ‘er done energy of the Sun through Capricorn followed by the heady logic energy of the Sun through Aquarius, we are ready for the expansive, dreamy, and intuitive energy of the Sun in Pisces. It’s the healing waters that help us to align with compassion to a larger dream for ourselves that anchors all of the astrological signs that follow. This new moon is our chance to drink deeply from these waters.
With the Sun, Moon, and Neptune all in Pisces sextile Mars in Taurus and Saturn in Capricorn, we have the opportunity to embody our spiritual knowing in tangible ways. In our culture, it is easy to compartmentalize a personal connection to the divine, as it flies in the face of mainstream thinking and our collective focus on 3D reality. Or maybe we say to ourselves that that is what I do with certain spiritual friends or when I’m meditating, etc. That said, I’d be willing to bet that many of you use your guidance all the time in your daily life. During this time, as we expand and receive a bigger dream for ourselves, don’t be surprised if some your existing modes of thinking as well as any external facades that don’t accurately portray who you are becoming start to fall away.
With this new moon, our awareness of the vibrational realities behind what we can see, touch, taste, and hear increases exponentially, if we’re open to it. There is a vast universe both within us and without us, beyond what our logical left brain would have us believe. We all have equal access to it when we expand our ways of knowing. AND, it’s not just useful to mystics on the mountain top! Personally, as a working mom, I use other ways of knowing all the time to help me focus and be flexible and clear on what I’m doing at any given moment. Otherwise I’d be way more exhausted from the quick transitions I need to make from caring for a toddler, taking care of myself, connecting with my husband, performing at my day job, and writing these forecasts in the wee morning hours J. I’m excited at the prospect this new moon brings to embody spiritual knowing even more in our daily lives. Not only does it save us a ton of time and energy, but it also allows us to connect to the meaning behind our actions, plugging us into a universal power source.
Uranus enters Taurus today, where it will be until 2026. It first entered Taurus in mid-May 2018 before retrograding back into Aries from 11/7 until now. It’s helping us to rewire our ways of knowing and improving our connection to our instincts. When we open up to a larger dream for ourselves, we may find our values are shifting as well. Most likely that won’t be clear yet during this new moon, however we are starting to get some inklings and feelings of these shifts.
In summary, surrender and receive are the two key words of this new moon. Utilize whatever activities make you feel connected to the divine and help you get into right brain, intuitive ways of knowing. If you feel doubt or overwhelm creeping in, slow down, take a break from screen time, and find a way to reset your energy by getting outside, taking a bath, etc. Our ego consciousness is needing to soften its edges for us to drink from the sacred, restorative waters of Pisces.
