After the full wattage Leo new moon and Aquarius full moon earlier this month, this new moon brings refinement and mindfulness. There’s a certain beauty which is revealed when we weed a garden, prune a tree, or leave negative space in a painting. The organizing and creating definition and space where there wasn’t before is a subtle art and one that is critical to allowing and guiding us to focus on the beauty before us.
While we’ll be clearing the clutter of our hearts and minds with five planets in Virgo for this new moon (Mercury, Moon, Sun, Mars, and Venus), you also may be called literally to do some organizing and clearing out of your personal space. Pay attention to urges to clean up your diet or focus on healthy routines in your day. Virgo rules making incremental, small changes that add up over the long term.
With all of the planets in earth signs making lovely aspects to each other, this new moon promises some practical rewards for our efforts this summer. We are harvesting what we planted earlier in the year, and will continue to do so into September. The question now may be, what does it all mean? How does this change my day-to-day existence? What fruits of my labor turned out well? And which ones maybe need some additional tending to or maybe even a complete do-over next year? Virgo focuses us laser-like on lessons learned, not so we can beat ourselves up but so that we can learn and improve. There’s a balancing and rebalancing taking place, a taking stock of what we did and didn’t do. With Virgo, we learn that the ultimate accountability resides within, which means we get credit for when things go exceedingly well and for when things fall off the rails completely. Throughout it all, we’re honing our mastery, humility, and skills to take on more exciting challenges in the future.
Our ideals and dreams in our relationships are under a certain amount of pressure with Jupiter forming the tip of a T-square, squaring both Venus and Neptune, which are closing into an exact opposition of each other on 9.4. Within this configuration there is a healthy, at times frustrating, tension between our ideals and visions and our current reality. We’re all probably needing to release some old dreams that no longer resonate to pave the way for a fresh, updated vision of what we want to create in our relationships.. If you are grappling with disappointment, that’s a natural part of this process. Take heed not to overly project it onto others, though, as we can all too easily fall into the role of a martyr with this aspect. Utilize any feelings of disenchantment to point you to where you can use the current Virgo task force of planets to breakthrough any stagnation and clear the clutter of old dreams you’ve outgrown. It’s ok to ask for more, and in that asking be willing to hone and work with what you currently have.
Intentions: I cultivate daily routines that feel good and give me energy. I am open to giving and receiving clear, compassionate, and precise feedback. I enjoy learning while harvesting the fruits of my labor.
