2.11 New Moon in Aquarius: Breathing Fresh Air

//  by Lizzy Zuege//  Leave a Comment

February is bringing disruption and changes friends! Paid Stars by Liz Members get access to my Empowered Astrology Episode for February and my detailed take on the Saturn Square Uranus aspect on 2.17. Not a member? Sign up for a free trial here.

There is an impressive line-up of planets in Aquarius for this new moon (in addition to the Sun and Moon): Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. This is not a subtle or nuanced message from the solar system. Even though its main archetype is the “water-bearer,” Aquarius is an air sign, confusing many students of astrology.  Since Aquarius is a sign that likes to keep people guessing, perhaps it suits them just fine.   After we move through the stabilizing, industrious, and ambitious earth sign of Capricorn, Aquarius comes along and says: “What is all this work for? Is all of this technology we’ve worked so hard to build benefiting the greatest number of people?” Basically we get a primer in where we need to expand our thinking to include all of humanity, not just our current personal situation.

Two of the key superpowers of Aquarius are the ability to think objectively and the desire for personal freedom. The objectivity is  like being on a mountain and breathing cool, clear alpine air after a fresh snowfall; the quiet stillness allows for a depth of clarity and focus that normally eludes us. Another core value of Aquarius is the desire for personal freedom and the need to express your authenticity. If you are faking it anywhere in order to “pass” or gain the approval of others, you will become increasingly uncomfortable and seek ways to break out of any patterns that aren’t supporting your individuality. Another Aquarius trait is impatience, so do chart your course to best harness this energy versus changing for the sake of change. You have an opportunity to let go of how you and possibly others see you in the world and update it to something that better suits the current, evolved you.

Because of the strong air signature of this new moon, your energy needs to circulate and expand beyond what you thought possible. You are ready to broaden your consciousness as well as your compassion. They say that great knowledge brings great responsibility, and one way to think about this is that you are bringing the powers of your higher mind down to earth to make improvements for your people. Let yourself step back and assess your current situation with this expanded sense of consciousness. There’s no need to think outside the box (or step outside the box), because you’ve actually never been in one. Your being is much more multidimensional than that. Your job is to simply get out of the way of the personal genius that seeks to flow through you.

Intentions: I pay attention to where my consciousness is expanding currently. I embrace my true identity as a multidimensional being. I allow my personal genius to flow through me.
