This new moon stirs the pot for some significant shifts and changes. While you might be caught off guard by a transformation occurring in your world, let any illusions fall away. Do whatever helps you to let go and release whatever isn’t working or is past its prime.
In our culture, we don’t get much healthy modeling on how to gracefully let go of an era and to move into the next. Case in point: our whole toxic way of thinking about aging and getting older. To think that we will look the same at age 50 as we did at age 40 is an illusion. I remember when I was a young girl watching my beloved 80-year old grandmother fretting over her wrinkles with various lotions and creams. And I never understood, because I loved her crinkly smile and to me, she would’ve been a different person without her wrinkles. Now that I’m 40, I can’t claim to celebrate when I discover a new wrinkle. I am not immune to our society’s impossible standards of beauty. However, my goal is that by the time I’m 80 (hopefully before), I’ll look in the mirror and celebrate my age and the appearance that comes along with it. And throw my wrinkle creams away. If you are fighting a transition, stop and ask yourself why. What would radical acceptance look like in your current situation?
Your communication and thinking are under some pressure to transform. When Mercury is in Leo, we tend to give a dramatic flair to our stories and seek out the attention of others to appreciate our thinking. However, you also have the opportunity to energize the ideas of others by connecting to the heart and meaning of their messages. Be careful of one-sided communication that could give the impression that you think what you have to say is more important than what others have to say. Remember to use humor to smooth any ruffled feathers and to inspire and energize others.
Venus opposes Neptune, helping to bring grace and compassion to any spells that have been broken. Bring a healthy dose of self-love into the conversation about your current identity. Sometimes in the midst of change it’s an important step to reflect on how much you are identified with whatever circumstance is shifting. Who are you without that project/place/job/person? Let yourself explore and inhabit different ways of being and expressing yourself. Venus also makes some nice aspects to transpersonal Pluto and Uranus, helping you to feel support and collaboration with the universal forces available.
The placement of Mars asks you to review and clarify your next step. Is this really what you want? What are some ways for you to better align your actions with your heart? Ask for help from trusted allies to support you to take the next best step for yourself. If you find yourself in analysis paralysis, move your body to shift your mental state and get in touch with your instincts.
Intentions: What would it look like to radically accept a current transition in my world? In what ways is your identity shifting and changing? How might you better align your actions and next steps with what your heart desires?
