A month ago, early in the morning on a Sunday, I was making french toast with my four-year-old son. I was still bleary with sleep and doing my best to contain the mess created by my enthusiastic sous chef. He turned to me, out of the blue, and asked, “Mama, what happened before the Big Bang?” I stopped in my tracks and attempted a halting, preschool-level explanation, which was basically “nobody really knows exactly.” He was mildly satisfied before launching into a series of unrelated questions on superheroes. I bring this up because this full moon is asking us to look at those big universal questions about the true nature of who we are and where we come from. Isn’t it wild that we are drinking the same water that the dinosaurs drank? Or that we really are made of stardust? While we might not consciously know what happened before the Big Bang, I believe that part of our consciousness does know, because the atoms that were around before the Big Bang are part of us today. And we don’t need to know the full story and details about what went down. It may be that our conscious mind isn’t fully capable of it. But we can anchor ourselves by being in awe of the miracle that is life.
Neptune joins the moon for this full moon, softening the edges around our conscious mind to allow information from other dimensions to flow into our experience. This is a prime placement for mystical experiences, so don’t over plan your day and get out into nature if you can. Take refuge in your favorite poems or spiritual texts to release any overanalyzing and to connect to source energy, however you define it. Weather permitting, go outside and watch the moon rise (the timing will be shortly after sunset on the Eastern horizon). Take your time and let the moonlight wash over you, cleansing your body and spirit.
There’s a push/pull dynamic when it comes to our relationships. Especially when it comes to shared resources, whether it’s time or money. If you aren’t on the same page with your partner or those you work with about how you are spending time and/or money, have an honest dialogue about it. Notice what your energy is doing during these conversations. So much communication is nonverbal. If you are trying to control the situation, the dialogue will short circuit. Use the compassion and fluidity of Pisces to soften your approach and see what emerges from the dialogue versus pushing your own agenda. With Jupiter trine Mercury, you might come up with something completely new that works much better than what you originally wanted anyway.
Questions to Ponder: How might I connect to more awe and gratitude throughout my day? What spiritual truths am I most curious about? In what ways can I enjoyably release any analytical tendencies that no longer serve me?
