Welcome to the start of the spring eclipse period. For the next couple of weeks, until the lunar eclipse on 5.5, you have access to deeper self-awareness and to making unconscious dynamics conscious. They can often bring an unpredictable, wild card energy. The solar eclipse on 4.20 is in the last degree of Aries and square Pluto which tells me we all have some unfinished business to attend to, as well as some endings. In our culture, we often have a hard time letting go. Something is only seen as valuable if it lasts as long as possible, whether it be relationships, a job, etc. For this solar eclipse, celebrate the ephemeral, like the spring flowers, that only have a short window of beingness. Because as you fully embrace beautiful, fleeting experiences, you are better equipped to let them go and move on to the next cycle.
Mars rules this eclipse in Cancer, bringing on your inner momma or papa bear. You are feeling the need to protect something that you care about and love. Get in touch with your instincts and appetites to better understand this energy. This is an important configuration to heal unconscious family patterns that you may be seeing repeat themselves right now. The metaphor of the loyal soldier may be helpful to explore. Basically, after WWII a number of Japanese soldiers were stranded on remote islands in the Pacific. Some of these soldiers were found decades after the war had ended, still believing in their mission as soldiers and unable to accept that the war had ended and Japan had lost. This belief in their mission had kept them alive, but now it interfered with their ability to integrate back into society. The strategy that worked was to gently and repeatedly remind them that the war was over, and also to give them another job. All of us have loyal soldiers from childhood, patterns that we established to keep us safe in the midst of family dynamics. If you find that your loyal soldier is having a hard time accepting your current situation without backsliding into old patterns, it may be time to remind them that the war is over and to give them a new job. Something that you’ve been working on is drawing to a close, and it’s time to develop a new job description for the next chapter.
Be open to spiritual insight from unexpected places. Half the battle with a strong Aries signature is remembering to pause and check in with yourself so you can create space for these insights to bubble to the surface. This eclipse gives you a throughline to your authenticity. You are looking for a sense of emotional belonging first with yourself and then getting to a deep knowing of who your true allies are.
Intentions: I am kind to my inner loyal soldier and firm about their new job description for my next chapter. I celebrate the ephemeral beauty of nature in the spring, knowing that I can let it go and move into the next cycle when needed.
